Insomnia Clinic
Trouble going to
sleep?
Trouble staying
asleep?
Not feeling refreshed
each morning?
If any of these difficulties are happening three or more times per week, you could have insomnia. If you do, you're not alone. 1 in 10 people now struggle with insomnia and it’s the most common sleep disorder. Insomnia is often thought of as a sleep disorder, but it can affect every aspect of life. It can make you feel exhausted in the day and less productive at work. The lack of sleep can also create vulnerabilities to a whole range of physical and mental health problems.
The good news is there is a simple and effective treatment available.
Most people don’t realise that medication is not a helpful long term treatment for insomnia. Instead, the NHS (and other international bodies) recommend Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia (CBT-i) as the first line treatment for insomnia.
The Sleep Practice specialises in this approach and offers the treatment in the comfort of your own home or office, via our private zoom or telephone clinic.
We offer CBT-i in the way that best suits you.
For some that’s weekly appointments, with the option for a top up telephone call to see how things are going in-between sessions. Others prefer to take a more intensive approach, with sessions every few days. Most people with insomnia require between 4-10 sessions.
“In only a few weeks I have weaned myself off sleeping tablets and I am sleeping better than I have for decades. I cannot express just what a positive effect this has had on me and wish I had had access to Holly’s services many years ago.”

My sessions with Dr Milling have left me feeling much more confident and relaxed about sleep, sure in the knowledge that if it falls off the wagon again I have the tools to restore it. I recommend Dr Milling unreservedly and would urge anyone suffering with poor sleep to speak with her.

I was referred to Dr Milling after suffering with sleep apnea for over 20 years. After two major surgeries to fix my obstructed airway, my sleep had not improved. I remained exhausted on a daily basis, with constant migraines and low mood which sometimes bordered on depression. A feeling of despair was starting to creep in at times that such a longstanding problem might never be solved. Dr Milling was brilliant and patiently explained the various cognitive, behavioural, and mindset changes I needed to make to begin resolving my sleep issues. She was highly adaptive in responding to the different sticking points, identifying key challenges that were hampering my progress and teaching me a variety of approaches to tackle them.

Dr Milling's advice, coaching and encouragement has brought tangible results, helping me to get my life back. While my sleep definitely has room for improvement, it is the best it's been since childhood. I am back in the gym with regular training, I can more easily focus on my work, and have begun to pursue the interests I was previously too tired to even contemplate.
